Nestor is a mixed media artist and is currently based out of New York. He was born in Sabinas, Mexico and in 2001 emigrated to Arizona where his family settled. He graduated from Coronado High School and has been dropping off artwork at Art One since his high school art teacher started to bring his higher-level student art. Nestor has dropped off a variety of pieces throughout the years. He continues to work on different approaches to painting and has focused on expanding to abstract painting on canvas using knife and other experimental applications. Nestor comes from a figurative drawing background and has worked with kids in youth development for a number of years at Boys and Girls Clubs in the Phoenix-Scottsdale-Mesa area. He was a long time member and as an alumni advocates for quality after school programming. He was shaped by a number of events in his life. He was granted DACA in 2012 which allowed him to obtain some protection and the ability to work in the United States. He was affected by state legislature such as sb1070 and prop300.
